The community rules that keep Mzansi Price Check honest.
Community prices are guidance, not guarantees
Prices and taxi fares are added by shoppers, merchants and retailers, and shop prices change often.
Always check the shelf price or ask the driver before you pay. Mzansi Price Check is not liable for a price or fare that has changed since it was reported.
Your promise when you contribute
Only add prices you have actually seen in a shop, and fares you have actually paid or been quoted.
Only upload photos you took yourself, and don't photograph other people without their permission.
No spam, abuse, fake shops, joke products or deliberately wrong prices. Repeated bad submissions lower your trust score and can suspend your account.
Retailer and merchant accounts
Store owners must verify a genuine connection to a shop before managing it.
Retailers can add and update their own prices and specials, but can never delete, hide or outrank community prices — including community prices that are cheaper than theirs.
Ranking is never for sale. Stores are ordered by true shopping cost, distance and data freshness only.
Moderation
Moderators may correct, hide or remove submissions that break these rules, and may reverse bulk imports.
Every moderation action is recorded in an internal audit log.
Beta software
You are using Beta 1.1 — Retailer Led. Features may change, and some areas still have thin price coverage while shoppers build it up.
Please report anything wrong through the in-app feedback form — it helps everyone in your area.
